What a way to spend the last day of 2007, sick with food poisoning. Blah. I think even paying $200 for an over-crowded party is better than that.

Google's Take on the World

Okay, I'll be honest, I didn't know what bebo was until I saw it on top of Google's top 10 lists, but it's surpassed myspace in Google searches, which appears to be unrelated to its page views and users (which have a long way to go to catch up to the Myspace juggernaut).

I'm not sure what Google searches tell us about the world. it's interesting that nearly all of the top 10 searches on Google are what the media would call "web 2.0 applications." It's a bit sad, although not altogether surprising, that the top News search was about Paris Hilton. And as many as 5 of the top 10 definition searches were in Spanish, reflecting the demographic trend that's got the Minutemen so up in arms.

On that note, it just seemed like a good time to review the year in searches. Enjoy :).
